Business challenge
The company in the shipping industry decided to get serious about performance
management. The system was set up by the HR department at head office.
Problem was that the operating subsidiaries regarded it as just another
‘hobby’ of head office. Hundreds of managers and thousands
of staff worldwide had to ‘belief’ that the performance management
system that the CEO wanted was indeed worthwhile. There was a six month
time frame to implement the system.
Solution
TDale Carnegie Benelux solution entailed:
*Train 25 Dale Carnegie trainers at the company’s head office;
*These 25 trainers in turn train hundreds of managers in a multitude of
languages worldwide;
*Objectives of the training for the managers:
a)Understand the need for the system;
b)To be able to deal with the staff when implementing
the system;
c)To be able to ‘enthuse’ the staff for
the system.
*Separate e-Learning modules for the management and the staff to be used
for reference when preparing for e.g. performance management interviews
and setting key result areas.
Results
Dale Carnegie Benelux’ comprehensive solution was a perfect complement
for the performance management system. We dealt with the people, the consultant
with the proces.
